Arizona Ice Tea Jugs

My friend at work goes thur about a ! Gal Arizona Ice tea jug a week. I was wondering if I could use these as a primary fermenter for cider. The bottom of the jug has two triangular symbols. One says: "7 other" and the other says "5 pp compatible". If I could use these I'd have an unending supply. Thanks.

I suppose you could, but it's not a good idea. Look for a 1 inside the triangle if you want good plastic for a fermenter.

Being in NYS, I'm guessing your community recycles. 1 gallon glass wine jugs are plentiful at the recycling center. With the Holidays upon us, you should be able to find more than you would ever need.
