One cup won't be a problem. People have a tendency to add multiple pounds of honey and that makes for slow ferments.

wanted to add 1 cup and see how that is and then may be try 2 cups and so on.

One cup of honey is powerful...in relation to whatever you are mixing it with.

I did a 1 cup back sweet on a mead and it really took off again...
