Hi guys,

I've had a brew kit fermenting in the bucket for 14 days and it will not pass 1020 on the hydrometer. It has stuck at 1020 and the kit instructions say it should be below 1014 before transferring it into the pressure barrel.

I'm very new to this and not sure what I did wrong. I've done two kits before this one, both of which have been okay.

Steps taken so far:

1. Clean and sanitise everything
2. Add 2 litres of boiling water to the kit
3. Stir
4. Top with water to 25 litres
5. Stir
6. Sprinkle yeast on top
7. Close lid

I checked it after 10 days and it was on 1020 and hasn't moved.

Is there anyone that can offer me any advice please?

Thank you.

ADDITION: I did this the wrong way round. I posted and THEN searched the forum for 1020 and 1.020. It turns out there are plenty of people who have had similar experiences.

Also, I should have added that I'm using a Muntons kit (Conkerwood Black Ale).

Thank you for your comment. I will go ahead and transfer it to my pressure barrel.

Good job I didn't pour it down the sink!!
