I wanted to do a sanity check with all of the more experienced keggers here. Please have a look at my checklist of items and let me know if I have everything I need and if I am paying too much for anything:

Already Purchased
Sanyo 4912
2 x Cornelius Ball Lock kegs
5lb CO2 Tank

About to Purchase
3" Stainless tower; $50.72 (ACU)
2x Elbow Shanks; $27.60 each (Micromatic)
2x Perlick Faucets; $29.00 each (http://www.superprod.com
2x Gas Quick Disconnects; 5.45 each (http://northernbrewer.com/
2x Beer Quick Disconnects; 5.45 each (http://northernbrewer.com/

Yet to Price
Regulator
Tubing

Don't forget the o-ring lube! It will help your seals live a long and happy life.

Also, replacement o-rings.
Soon you will want more kegs (for aging), and more quick disconnects so you can make nifty transferring devices. Oh and some sort of bottle filler.

Basically you have the stuff you *need*, but what about the stuff you will *want*? :)

I assume there needs to be a quick disconnect fitting on the end of the beer and gas lines? What are these called?

Here's what made my life easier:
****
The 1/4" MFL threaded fittings connect to our tubing kits (KX03-KX04), our barbed swivel nut (K123).

Get the threaded disonnects and the fittings listed above. It'll make disconnecting and cleaning easier. Email Northern Brewer and tell them what you're after and they'll give you a helping hand.

Also, you'll need a T-splitter or manifold to split the gas line to run to two different kegs.

If you want some extra bling, the Lee harware handles for top trim are nice and fairly priced, too. You'll also want a drip tray. I ended up buying a cool looking metal serving dish (I guess that's what it is) that I use for a drip tray, I think Pier 1 had it for about $9.

faucet handles? clamps? check valves? extra poppets?

The check valve will likely be integrated into the regulator if he gets the dual output version with the brass wye.

Poppets; I'd only buy a spare if you're already buying something from somewhere that has em cheap. I don't have any extras but then I also have 6 kegs so far and not all of them are allocated so i have a backup.
