I have a batch of cider that has been bottle conditioned at room temp for the last 3 weeks. Its ready for long term storage (till new years). As near as I can tell storing it upright in the basement seems to be the best way to store it. I have searched here and on the internet. Is this the correct way to store the cider?

Yep upright is fine. I'm lucky enough to have a root cellar (50F) but have also stored them at basement room temperature for several months with no issues. The cooler the better though.
