I work the night shift too. Love the you're going to hell looks at get buy beer that early.

A couple years ago, I was in NC for my wife's cousin's wedding and at the last minute our plans for boarding our dog fell through. One of her other cousins stepped up and offered to take our dog for the night since our hotel didn't allow pets. He is a good ol' boy and had a great time with the dog, and I wanted to thank him in a way that I knew he would appreciate, so the morning after the wedding I went to the grocery store to get a case of bud light. I had no idea that it was illegal to buy/sell alcohol on Sundays in NC, and here I was at 8:00am trying to get a whole case of beer while everyone else in town is off at church. It was also the *only* thing I was trying to buy...so the cashier looks at the beer, looks at me and says "you can't buy that right now", just takes the beer off the counter and puts it behind her station. Since I had nothing else and was caught sort of off-guard, I mumbled some sort of apology and just walked off to the parking lot.

I had a similar experience in Michigan a couple summers ago. I tried to by some Oberon around 11am in a Sunday in a small town in the thumb. I successfully managed to not mumble derogatory comments about backwards Christians.

Only when we're picking up bud for my fiance's stepfather. We'd both rather be buying shameful brown-bag porn. lol

Dated a girl years ago that Would only drink Coors light or Zimas.

Tail between my legs every time I got the drinks or stocked up for the weekend.

I was buying rum to make coquito (Puerto Rican coconut-rum eggnog). I had my housemate's 17 year old daughter with because I'm teaching her to drive. The clerk demanded to see her ID because I might be a creepy old man trying to get a teenager drunk.

I had to run errands for a couple more hours and then park in another parking lot and have her wait in the car while I made another attempt to buy the rum.
