School Help: Beer and Culture

I have to formulate a question which will eventually become a research paper related to food and drink from the cultural point of view. Obviously, I'm going with beer

Right now I'm considering going with a craft brew angle. Maybe "What is driving craft brew's resurgence" or "regional factors that influence craft beer"... Those are just ideas, I'm not set on anything yet. I've never written a research paper where I wasn't either assigned a topic or given a few, narrow choices to decide from.

We have so many choices with beer, so I want to make the best of this assignment.

I think the big question you have to ask yourself, is "How do I turn a research paper into a tasting session?"
