Being as this is my maiden voyage into the world of electric brewing I am going to start out with a very simple single kettle, PID controlled design. My first step was a few weeks ago when I got my 240v sub-panel installed.
Today I started on step number two, building the control panel. My order from Auberins (1-SYL-2352 PID, 1-RTD sensor, 1-Panel mount connector for RTD sensor, 1-40 A SSR, 1-Heat sink, 1-Contactor, 1-Flashing Buzzer, and 1 project box.) just shipped and should be here before the holiday weekend. I'll pick up the various switches, plugs, terminals, and wires from my local Grainger's this week. With a little luck I'll have the control panel finished this weekend.
Then I need to save up a few bucks for step three, installing the element and element housing. Buying the Greenlee punches is why this portion has been made into it's own step.
After staring at my new sub-panel for 3 weeks I can't wait to start seeing some more progress.
