Does adding Co2 stop fermentation?

Sounds like a trick question. Fermentation will slow as temperature drops outside the yeast strain's active range. Fermentation can also be halted with high levels of CO2 because the carbonic acid lowers pH out of the yeast's comfort zone. Doing both should stop fermentation especially a bulk of the yeast has already been removed.
