So, silly questions.

I just picked up a 6 Gal non-ported Better Bottle from my LHBS.

They also had 5 Gal.

Is the only difference that you'd use 6gal's primarily for primarys and krausen space, and 5 Gals for secondary/minimal oxygen?

Thats what I do... well planning to do.

And oh yea, what do you use to cap your Carboy? I have a bung for my better bottle- but I just dont feel comfortable with that, Im expecting a bung to go through my ceiling- even with the airlock on it. Any topper alternatives?

By the way...they are making 6.5 gallon carboy again. I bought the first one in at my LHBS.

i have 4 x 6.5's that's all i use. I like the extra space to make 5.5 gal batches. I don't know why anyone would be worried about a bung popping out though?
