Ok so I got hold of a cascade rhizomes it was about 6 inches long. The guy I got it from said I could easily cut it up and plant it to grow more so I cut it into pieces about 2 inches long. Now I'm looking at pics and they seem bigger. Each piece had some roots and new shoots. Do you think they will survive?
Thanks

All the rhizomes I've purchased have been in the 6 inch or larger range.

That being said , if you plant the 2 inch pieces you'll probably get growth.

The first year is all about root growth so you won't get too many hops anyway.

Hops are difficult to kill.

I believe it is not the length as much as the # of shoots on the rhizome when you plant it. A 2" rhizome with 4 shoots has as much chance as a 6" piece with 4 shoots, if I am reading everything right.
