I brewed a Wit a little over two weeks ago and I had seen a few recipes call for cumin seed and some not. I was on the fence as to if I should add it or not right up to the time I dumped it in.
Now, 17 days later I check the gravity and it's where it should be. I drank the sample as you always should and the damn thing smelled like a hotdog on a bun.
It tasted good for a really grean, flat spiced beer but damn. You bring the glass to your face and you get slapped with the cumin seed and a bready smell. Now I wish I would have not added the damn cumin.
Looks like I'll have 10 gallons of hotdog beer aging a few months.
