How To Figure Attenuation?

So how do I figure out my attenuation? I remember reading a formula somwhere but I can't find it again.

But here is the formula:


Apparent Attenuation:

Apparent = (Degrees Plato Final / Degrees Plato Start) - 1

This measures how much of the sugars has been fermented in to alcohol... I show this number as a percent in my excel sheet.

Real Attenuation:

Real = (Real Extract / Degrees Plato Start) -1
