I followed jack kellers honeysuckle recipe, but I have one remaining question. All of my other wines, I leave the mesh bag containing the "fruit" in the primary with the wine. His recipe has you steep the flowers, then pour through the mesh bag into the primary. The big question is: Do I then throw away the flowers or tie off the bag and leave in primary?

I started my first batch of Lilac a couple weeks ago. I poured boiling water over the flowers and let them sit, loose, in the primary for 48 hrs.

I strained them through cheese cloth and just gave it a light sqeeze to get the water out. I added the rest of the ingredients and put it under an airlock. It's been bubbling along happily ever since.

Hope this helps, good luck.
