I have two vials of a german lagar yeast, and plan on making a starter with the first for a brew this weekend. I'm not sure what I would do with the second (the guy at the store "threw" one in for free.)

I won't be able to brew again until this batch is complete, so should I pitch the starter, and the extra yeast, or could this be a problem?

Take a close look at them and put the newer one in your fridge. There is no advantage in using two vials in a starter.

Save it for the next one, it's good for at least 6 months or more (if it's fresh now). Taste the first and make changes for the next.

Thanks! :rockin:

I guess I'll just have to brew another batch, as soon as this one is done ;)
