E-herms with a cooler mashtun

I currently have 2 kegs but am having trouble finding a 3rd keg for an all electric herms I'm going to build. I currently use a couple of different coolers for mashtuns. Is there any good reason why I can't use a cooler for my new system? It seems like it would hold the heat better than a keg. My only concern is what to use for a false bottom in a square cooler for the recirculation. Will a braid flow well enough to make sure I don't get a stuck sparge?

I am doing the same thing...I can't see any reason not to. The cooler may not hold up as long as a keg and be as easy to clean but it shouldn't be an issue.
