It's the same yeast I use in my hefe's, but is this a yeast that can be saved?

definitely going to have to wash this then. I just saved some 833 as well. This yeast washing can save a lot of cash!

Hrm. Well, I went to rack it and it didn't smell like a hefe. Maybe it's the darker malts, but it smelled kind of odd, so I elected to dump the yeast this time. One a more classic hefe I'll save and wash the yeast.

There was a LOT of yeast, though. It never did need the blow-off tube like a regular hefe.
