Hey guys, I think I know the answer (and that is no) but I need to roast a couple lbs of pale to get an amber malt out of it. Its already crushed, because I dont have a mill yet. Is it possible to get decent results out of already crushed grain? I did a search and found some mixed results.

Although im sure the answer will be no, I may try it anyways because if I blow a couple lbs its not a deal breaker. If I go ahead with it, will I know if it is ruined by tasting the grain after it has cooled? Like I said, blowing a couple pounds of base is no biggie, but I'd hate to ruin a batch because of it.

thanks guys
