Mead gravity confusion/questions

So I just started a new batch of mead......

The gravity reading I took was 1.090ish.

I used 12.25 lbs of honey, put 2 gal of water in a 5 gal. carboy, added the honey and then topped up with water. Ended up only using about 3 gal. to 3.5 gal. of water.

So I have gotten the impression that my reading was wrong, but I can't find a tool online that I think works well with mead to get a good idea of what my gravity should have been.

Was it at 20 degrees celcius? (68F)

1.090 sounds about right for 12.25 lbs of honey in a 5 gallon batch.
