im a new brewer. this is only my 4th batch. its a homemade recipe for licorice stout. im experimenting. the og was 1.050. my basement temp is 64 degrees and i have the primary off the floor on a milkcrate.
its been 24 hours and theres no bubbling.
im using safeale 05 yeast.
should i worry

Not yet, sometimes it's just slow getting started. Give it another day and then peek in and see if you have any krausen (foam on top). I have had some that were very slow and I had to raise the temp overnite to get things going.

im just worried because in my other batches i used tap water and no nutrients. this batch i used 5 gallons of distilled water and added yeast nutrient.

Isn't that a great feeling when your yeast finally takes off after you think it ain't gonna' happen?? :mug:

Good luck with your beer!

Alan
