They're NOT artificially driving up the price if people are willing to pay it. Any market that allows scalpers to thrive is one where prices are being kept artificially LOW.

You're missing the point by trying to give us a high school econ lesson.

I think the point IS that this is high school econ.

Continuing to rehash this is a waste of time. People will pay the price based on the short supply and high demand. See...rehashed.

Continuously arguing either side of the discussion is a waste of time. People will continue to pay a high premium for hard to find items. Way of the world.

Has anyone stated a clear, reasoned objection to the offer, or to anyone's willingness to accept it? If not, there's no controversy here.
