Kitchen Aid grain mill?

I have done much research on this and just about every experienced brewer who responded to my queries on this have said that it will not work for brewing. The grind is too fine even when set to just "crack" the grain.

Yup. I looked into these several months ago. Not only are they expensive, but they are meant for making flour or meal and are not really suitable for cracking grains for brewing.
 
I've been using one of these mills for several years to grind wheat into flour....works great for that. I can't imagine being able to set it to an adjustment that would merely crack or scarify the grains......
