So I'm driving a couple hours away next week specifically to pick up some bulk grain. I have a few AG recipes under my belt already and I'm planning a buying a 1 year supply. I'll probably be brewing, 1-2 batches of 5 gallons a month, all ales, no lager. I'm not set on one particular style but I enjoy pale ales, belgian wit, scotch ales as well as kolsch. Maybe the odd porter later this fall.
I'm looking for suggestions in terms of ingredients as well as quantity. For sure, I'm starting off with a 55 pound bag of 2 row and I'll be adding some other specialty grains to the order.

Any ideas that would help me experiment different styles over the next year?

Thanks kindly,

marc

I would recommend some minor amounts of crystal 20, crystal 60, chocolate, cara pils, and some wheat if you are going to brew some hefe. Also honey malt is a favorite of mine as it seems to go well with IPA, pale, and amber recipes.

Good Luck
