Will this work? Think it would add some subtle caramel flavors to my hefe? Good or bad idea?

This Hefeweizen will be my first AG brew. I should probably stick to the recipe as is, but, MAN, I want to experiement bad.
 
Did you wash the yeast cake?


What yeast was it? Unless it was a Bavarian wheat yeast its not really a weizen, more of an American wheat IMO.

Ahh, ok, I'll stick to the recipe then. I haven't even made the caramel cream yet, waiting on the ingredients. I was gonna put caramel cream into secondary, and then put the weizen on top immediately... but what you said makes sense. THanks.
