Just bottled my first batch :ban: everything seems good but i have a faint smell of green olives in my beer. Just wondering what that could be from. This was the recipe.
4oz crystal (steeped to 175)
6.5lbs dme (muntons extra light)
3/4 oz columbus(boiling)
1/2oz perle(flavor)
1oz cascade(aroma)
liquid wyeast #1056
thanks..

Never heard of green olive smell. That's a first.

If it's a vinegar smell, it will most likely subside as that is a normal by product of fermentation.

Give it plenty of time and move on to your next brew. :mug:

Beer can have all sorts of strange tastes and smells when it's green. You must not worry about it until it's been in the bottles for a few weeks. 95% of the time they won't still be there after that.
