I am going to a Brewfest this weekend to brew a QUAD B Porter which is aged in oak barrels.

Here is the recipe:

Bethlehem Bourbon Barrel Baltic Porter.

0.50 lb Carafa III (525.0 SRM) Grain 2.25 %

0.66 oz Target [11.00 %] (60 min) Hops 15.4 IBU
0.87 oz Challenger [7.50 %] (25 min) Hops 9.6 IBU

Sounds like a winner......but 500 cals/pint!? I guess at 9% ABV, you'd only have 1 or 2. This looks like a keeper...something you could age over a few years.
 
Big A$$ Beer!

Yeah it is a true lager (to the sense of the word). There are 25 or so people brewing the same recipe tomorrow so I should learn some cool stuff and get to network a bit.

Can't wait. Got my ingredients last night and I am packing tonight for an early rise and brew day tomorrow.
