Can I use a flex tube like a fiber reinforced clear tubing to connected my home-made-from-a-keg-top-false-bottom to the side valve?

I'm having trouble making the connection and getting something that will flow enough to keep a pump primed. I'm planning on using gravity to flow down to the MLT and pump back up to my eBK to maintain/step mash/fly sparge. So I'd like to use 1/2".

i would, and do, only use silicone tubing for this type of connection. vinyl has no place submerged in heated food products.

have any pictures of this "home-made-from-a-keg-top-false-bottom"? from what i understand from that description, your pump priming issues are probably related to the design of the bottom itself, rather then the connection not flowing enough.
