I heard from someone that you should not store empty bottles in the garage due to exhaust fumes? Any truth to this? We park both of our cars in our garage daily. Obviously I would wash and sanitize the bottles before bottling but wanted to get everyone's take.

Thanks,

Never heard of this.....i store mine in my garage stored in milk crates, which are then stacked..then open up a garbage bag and put it upside down over the crates to keep any dust off the bottles. However, i don't park any vehicles in there.

I store my bottles in cardboard case containers upside down to keep dust and dirt from getting into the bottles.

I don't even cover the bottles. they are in milk crates on shelves. we park 1 car in the garage. and this has been my practice for over 10 years.
