I am going to try an IPA for the first time and I would like some help puting it together.
Here is what I came up with I am wanting this to be a malty, sweet, yet a bit hoppy.
this is a 10 gal recipe AG and using calif ale yeast WLP001
20# of Pale ale malt
1# honey malt
1# carapills
8 oz 120L
85% eff OG @ 1.066
Mash in and hold @ 152 for 60 min
collect 13 gal (fly sparge)and do a 90 min boil
2 oz amarillo @ 9.8aau for 60
2 oz amarillo @ 9.8aau for 15 min
50 IBU
I am thinking of spliting this 10 gal recipe and dry hoping w/ 2 oz of something not sure what.
I was also thinking of adding 8 oz of honey to one of the fermenters at transfer into 2ndary
any suggestions???
I need some help on this
Cheers
JJ
