I just finished brewing an AG imperial IPA and put it in a fermenter to settle so that I could rack it off the trub. As I was racking it to another fermenter with a fresh yeast cake of WLP001, I noticed a 10 gallon cylindrical Rubbermaid cooler that hadn't been used for awhile. The 6 gallon BB fermenters I use fit perferctly inside these coolers.
I'm sure it's been done before....but I decided that it would be a nice test to see if it held a water temp of 67 degrees and immerse my fermenter into it....and it did...
So I'm fermenting that batch at 67 degrees.....not having to use my extra freezer for ales....but for my lagers.
