Want to know some good safe bet methods for doing these steps after my cider is ready. I'm new to it and just want to be reassured on the best methods. Any help appreciated.

Bulk prime at an ounce of dextrose per gallon for carbing.

I have had great success with pasteurising in the dishwasher - I run mine on the intensive setting which goes for about 2 hours. Temp is supposedly 70C but with 40 bottles in there it didn't get past 50C. I have had one bottle explode in there (out of several batches) but the mess is neatly contained in the bottom of the dishwasher and not in my face, hands and cupboards!

Should I not use a primer if I want a dryer cider for bottling. Would it still Carb OK.

Dry cider can be primed and carbonated without needing to pasteurise at all.
