Thanks dstar. I did read that thread but thought it was a bit outdated and could use freshening up. I did enjoy your comments and pics though.

This is just my .02, but I would use Chinook for the bittering and use the Simcoe for the late addition. I heart Simcoe.

What up, Keffa? So you think I should flip-flop the first two hop additions?

Not much man. Yeah, I'd swap them, Simcoe is an incredible aroma/flavor hop, using it as a bittering hop is a waste, IMO, unless you are doing a single hop.

Just my pennies man.

Edit: I want to try this one, Amarillo+Simcoe = awesome combo.

OK, I'll give that a whirl. Thanks for the suggestion.

If it turns out good, I will bring a couple bottles to the next BA get-together for you to try.

Hell yeah! I'll have to bring a bottle of our next batch. When that'll be, who knows at this point. I gotta get my friend Bob off his ass to get his chiller fixed so we don't spend so much time cooling off our batches.

Cheers!

Anyone try this clone? How does it compare in color, aroma, bitterness, and flavor?

Any reason for using both the whirlfloc and Irish moss? This definitely looks like a real good ipa, I feel like I heard somewhere that they use a little bit of aciduated malt in the mash
