Quite surprised actually

Hey gang,

It's has been in the mid to high 80's here in San Diego and I put a Hef in the fermentor on Saturday. I used an ice chest filled with water, draped a towel over the fermentor and used a fan. Occasionally I would drop in a small ice pack and the fermentor temp stayed between 62 and 68, not bad for a poor boy Keezer.

I am very pleased with the results

i use 1 and 2 liter coke bottles as ice packs, and have a $4 tub with some water in it for my fermenter. i chill it to the right temp, then put the fermenter in, pitch, and add a couple ice bottles to it, and bring it to the right temp. later, i add ice bottles i think is right to keep the temp correct for the time i'm away (usually a workday). i cover it all with a thick towel, except i wrap the towel around the airlock...
