I'm not in to sour beers, never have been, never will be. I view a pellicle as an unwanted infection that I fear will contaminate future beers. I left a yeast cake under about an inch of beer for the last week. My plan was to use it again tomorrow to brew but yesterday noticed a pellicle forming and today it was huge. I rinsed the glass carboyr out outside with the hose and very slowly added cold water and about 2 cups of bleach to let it sit. What else do I need to do to prevent future infections in this carboy or am i screwed?

My plan is to let the bleach do its work over night, use a one-step cleaner or oxiclean, then star sans.

It should be fine. If you clean and then sanitize it with two different sanitizers like that then you should be good.

I've treated plastic buckets with that regimen and had clean fermentation.
