Hello,Being new to the beer making scene(I've made wine for a few yrs.) I've heard /seen many folks preaching sanitation/cleanliness/sanitization..... looking at some of the homebrew rigs here I've got to wondering-How can these systems be sanitized-pumps,valves,keggles plastic mash tuns, coils etc....You probably make more mess cleaning and sanitizing everything than the beer brewing itself.Or isn't the brewing stage as important (sanitation wise) as the fermentation and bottling stages . This is subject that's been bugging me-just thought I'd ask. Shane

For wine making, you just clean things & use campden & sorbate to kill wild yeasts and bacteria. Brewing is as B4B describes. Heat during the brewing process and sanitizing afterwards.
