Hey everyone! I'm happy to now be a member after lurking for a couple days. Just kept googling things and ending up here. Great site.
I have my first batch in the fermenter right now. It's an Autumn Amber Ale from Midwest Supplies. Day 6 of fermentation and it's down to a SG of 1.011, which is right at the FG for the recipe. I'm thinking of racking into a 5 gal carboy tomorrow if the SG remains the same. I know some people don't like a secondary, but hell, I bought the carboy--I might as well use it. Tasted the test sample and I think it's coming along nicely. But what the hell do I know? Can't wait to drink the final product.
Thanks for a great site. Glad to be here.
