Sense 8 was really hard for me to get through, and im not sure how they are going to transition into the next season with the way they ended. Its a rather disjointed show that didnt really reveal the good stuff till the end but had to endure a blurred line between softcore porn and network tv. Im not a prude but it took me out of the storyline to have a sex break happen for no real reason (other then the orgy, which made alot of sense to me). Im sure ill watch season 2 but i had alot higher hopes.

Wife and I just finished watching "The Honorable Woman". I was surprisingly drawn in to that short series.

Maggie Gyllenhal looks like **** in this but the storyline was very middle east cloak and dagger. I was especially impressed by how the roles of the spies were very intellectual in nature and very politically attuned. Too many shows make the spies be more of a kung fu hitman special agent grunt type character.

Yooper just got me hooked on the History Channel show ALONE where they drop these guys off on a remote area of Vancouver to see how long they can survive a midst bears, cougars, and wolves in a completely soaked environment with only a few tools.

One guy pussed out on the first day because some young bears started sniffing around his "tent" in the middle of the night.

Great show! I missed tonight's episode, but will watch it later this weekend.

I love shows like that. My best friend is a SERE instructor in the AF. He has some pretty wicked stories about training. Needless to say, our cabin weekends are pretty awesome when he is in town.

We camped this weekend.

Well, I SAY we camped, but really, the only stressful part was finding out the inverter in the RV might be going bad. The lights would randomly start flashing on and off and I'd have to flip the breaker to the lights for a minute or two to reset it...

I was going to bring a flint and steel to start the campfires with, but I forgot. The kids would have loved that!

Inbetweeners show is currently not scheduled to be renewed at the end of this month. I like what I have seen and am now going to try and finish before October

I havent got to camp in a few years... Cant wait until my boy is old enough (only 2) to camp and enjoy it.

Watched Mad Max: Fury Road on VUDU the other day. My older daughter wanted to rent it. She's seen it twice.

Well, my wife at down to watch with me. I don't think she cared too much for it. About halfway through she asked me if this was just going to be all about car chases...

:D

Last night we both sat down and watched The Big Lebowski. About halfway through she asked me why I'd never shown this to her before! Well, I only watched it myself a few months ago, so...

I'm currently putting together a list of all of the cult classics I haven't seen, and finding them.

Big Lebowski is getting dropped from Netflix again on October 1st, so if you've been jonesing for a caucasian and some bowling, you'd better get your fix in the next day or so.

Also being dropped pre-halloween (as of the 1st, I believe) is Nightmare on Elm Street.

I should drop Netflix for this abomination!

I'm too lazy to go back a few pages. Has anyone mentioned Narcos yet? Phenomenal.

Also, Bob's Burgers is hilarious. It takes a few episodes to get into but the jokes and characters are fantastic.

My two, "go to movies" are,
Troll hunter (Non English speaking)
The Devils pass.
Fantastic flix indeed.

You guys are making me want to check it out some more!

I downloaded a few cult classics recently. I got The Warriors, Ice Pirates and a couple of others.

The kid and I watched Kung Fu Hustle on Netflix the other night. It was better than I remember. I'm trying to remember another funny kung fu movie that came out about that time.

I'm looking forward to it. I've heard that famous tag line more than once, but never saw it. I love them old cheesy films.

I saw a movie a couple of years ago about semi-futuristic gangs that have Dance Dance Revolution competitions. It was somewhat violent and have some very strong language. I couldn't turn away!

I gotta find out what the name of that movie was...

FOUND IT!

You should check out The Last Dragon...I think it's on Prime.

If you are into music, the documentary "Muscle Shoals" is really enjoyable. I knew a lot of rockers recorded there. But I had no idea that a bunch of cracker musicians from 'Bama were responsible for the funk behind Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Percy Sledge etc.

Good music and good stories.

What's FP?

I tried to get the wife into Fringe to no luck.

I begrudgingly conceded to Hawaii 5-O. Not my sort of show personally but I have to play nice so........

I force the wife to watch Entourage as the counterpoint to it. It almost physically pains me to watch as well mind you but she hates it even more than I so it's a comparable trade. Muahaha.

Tried to make it through Sense8, got within an episode or two several weeks ago and virtually forgot about it.

A tiny bit off topic but... We watch most of our shows through Netflix/Amazon presently but a month or so ago I bought one of those HDHomeRun 3 Tuner Primes and a cablecard from Brighthouse and we've been extremely happy with the result. The downside is no captions (not a huge deal on a tablet or phone) but the upside is I get every single channel now for $2.50/mo (cablecard) and it streams at SD and better quality over our phones & tablets. Add a couple PCs with lots of storage to use as a DVR and I get to dump our gawd awful DVR and save about $10/mo ftw! :) Put us back into a few shows that had fallen by the wayside. (I don't allow a TV in the bedroom. ;) )
