Hey Guys I wanted to share some pictures of my low budget hop trellis for my Chinooks. First I got 2 Oak tree logs about 19ft long each and pretty strait. Then I went to the hardware store and bought some screw in hooks, a couple small pullys and 3/4" metal conduit 8ft. I had some paracute cord and I used that to rig it up so I can bring the top up and down at the end or beggining of the season. I also hade to buy some jute twine. After tamping in the logs about 2 feet down there not going anywhere. So for about $10-$15 I think this is pretty useful. Let me know what you guys think!
Heres the pully set up
My Chinooks are about 6ft tall 1st year
Heres a pic of another one for my Nugget, Sterling and 2 centenials. I still need to stake down one end. This thing stands about 20ft tall. The plants are short because they kept getting attacked by bugs, but they are growing now.
Happy gardening!
