Hey all,

I'm wondering how it would be possible to get some peanut butter flavor into a beer. I'm not thinking over the top, just a slight taste to complement chocolate.

I'm thinking porter/stout as the style. I want the style to shine through and not just be peanut butter or chocolate overwhelmingly over the top.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would hesitate to put straight up peanut butter in beer.

What if you took some of the base malt eg marris otter and roasted it with some raw peanuts? Then you could either take the nuts out or mash with them.

There are also grains that produce a nutty flavor, look for these in grain description charts.

Another Idea someone tossed around the other day is to use White Coffee or Expresso. It is basically underroasted beans that tastes like "Peanut butter Tea" rather than a roasty coffee
