I brewed my first batch..it was a true brew kit, Nut brown. I eneded up with a OG of 1.054
Fermentation was fast and furious and was over in 3 days. (1 bubble every five mins or so)
The gravity ended up at 1.017.....
the kit said OG 1.052-1.049
FG 1.014-1.012
I did sparge grains and it didnt call for it in directions??

I took hydrometer readings for three days straight and it held at 1.017

I put it into a secondary on day 5, but didnt think about tipping primary and left a bunch in there. In fear of bubbles in the racking cane.
When it went to secondary(5 gallon glass carboy) there was alot of head space...ended up with 4 and a half gallons.

In fear of oxidation I promtly bottled it (spent three days in secondary.)
Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Jamie

Also...do you think these have potential to be bottle bombs...
I cut primeing sugar down from 5oz to 4.25 oz to adjust for my precious lost liquids.
I am hopeing it all turns out ok.....beer tatsed great when i bottled it!

If it tasted great when you bottled it imagine how good it's going to taste in three weeks after you bottle conditioned above 70F. I wouldn't worry about bottle bombs either.

Thanks for the words of encouragement...
Wish I had a time machine around here so I could go ahead in time 3 weeks.
Looks like the Local brewpub and growlers for now.
