I have about 100 twist off type brown glass bottles I want to use for my first batch. Are these ok or must I use pop off type bottles?

If you've got a bench style capper then your good to go...

I bought an old school one off of ebay from 1920 that works great and only cost about $20 shipped...

Good luck on your first batch!

I've got a buddy that not only reuses twist off bottles he reuses the caps.

By simply twisting them back on.

I was under the impression that the problem with twist off bottles isn't the caps, but the glass itself. That they're not as sturdy (ie: thick) as pop top bottles and thus could be dangerous when carbing naturally. Maybe that's wrong though.

Any stories if he's had bottle bombs? Just curious. Let us know.
