Keg Parts list, need help....

I am switching over a kegerator to a 4 tap system. I have the CO2 tank, regulator, and ball lock kegs. I just need all the plumbing from the regulator all the way to the faucets (I will build a DIY tower)...

I was hoping someone who has experience with this could spend a few minutes and check over to see if I have what I need, and let me know if I have any parts wrong.

I'll just list a few points for you to think about:

- Do you need 5 feet of gas line per keg? Length of the gas line isn't a factor in balancing the system to the best of my knowledge, so you're flexible in using whatever length best works for you (on the gas side.)

- Do you ever plan to have any beers at different pressures? Some folks like to server certain styles of beer at their "proper" pressure for that style. If you'd like to do that, you're going to need another regulator.

I can shorten the gas lines to what is needed, is 5' appropriate for the beer lines? I figure the tubing is cheap enough that having some extra isnt a big deal.

My main concern is all the fittings for everything, and that the tubing will actually hook up to the shanks and the ball locks.

Not sure why the faucet link isnt working...they are just standard chrome faucets.

Another regulator may be something to add down the road, I just want to get the basics set up first.

Line length has EVERYTHING to do with balancing a system.

The length (5 feet) is about right, except you will want the 3/16" tubing. With 1/4" tubing, you won't get enough pressure drop and will not be able to dispense at the 10 - 12 PSI at which most beers are carbonated.

Think seriously about Perlick or Ventmatic faucets. The standard faucets get very dirty and will stick after a very short time of inactivity. The forward seal type are very worthwhile.

Will I be able to get the 3/16" tubing on the 1/4" barbs?

You sure will. If you have any trouble, heat a cup of water up in the microwave and let the end of the tube soak in the water until it's workable.

I just got all my equipment similar to your outfit. The only thing I could add would be the corny keg o-rings. You may have this taken care of already. I bought eight corny kegs and only half as many o-ring sets figuring some of them would be in good shape. Well, after dismantling all my kegs for cleaning, I decided to replace all o-rings on every keg with the exception of the lid o-ring (the big guy). This adds only a couple of bucks per keg. I discovered the lid gaskets were all in pretty good shape probably due to their size / durability.

I would also second the notion by LandSailor about the seal forward faucets.

One other thing... you may like to have this down the road draft line cleaning kit
