I know that brown ones are the best to keep out the light, but are the Groslch type green bottles better than clear? How about the blue tap-a-draft bottles? Do they offer any protection? I keep mine in a dark closet so they're fine, but just curious what the experienced brewers think.

Cheers.
Tony.

The only thing better about them groslch style caps then the clear glass is them ceramic swing tops that don't require crowns on the green grolsch style bottles.
AFAIK they both will contribute equally to lightstruck beer.

I believe it is like 0% UV blocking for clear 25% for green and 95% for brown. So yes green are better than clear but only slightly.
