My ex was a home brewer, I missed the beer so I decided to brew it myself. After sitting through a thousand discussions about the process I figured I could stumble through it. Now I wish I'd paid more attention. That is why I am thankful for this website.

I am from Minnesota, but last fall I moved to North West Montana. I don't know any other brewers, but my roommates are very encouraging of my new hobby.

welcome. your roommates will soon become even more encouraging... better get them to pitch in for ingredients.

Thanks! So far I am not paying my friends rent to stay in their house, so it's kind of like I am paying in beer. They have been drinking my first attempt at Bitter and really like it, I think it is terrible. But they don't really know what good beer is supposed to taste like. The next one will be better.

Yeah Montana! I hear there's a homebrew club in Whitefish - an hour's drive for me, but could be fun.

Is there really? I had no idea. I figured there were home brewers around here because the health food store ran out of crystal malt a few weeks ago. I am not far from Whitefish.

Welcome from a former Montanan from long long ago. Read the forum, use the search, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome. I worked on the Lolo Forest District a while back. You'll find an abundance of helpful, very knowledgeable folks on this forum.

I am in the Flathead Valley. I know there are other brewers around here, but I don't know any. In fact, I don't have many friends here that even like beer (I mean, good beer). Thanks for writing on my post.
