For stir plate starters bigger than a liter (5g batches), I always decant but I'm on the fence on if it matters for 1-1.5L starters, which most of mine are.

I pitched 1L of stir plate starter beer into a blond and it was fine, so I can't imagine it would matter for beers with more complex flavors.

What has been your experience?

Thanks,
JT

I do not pitch it all in. I always decant I feel it's jus good practice even with the thousands of people that say to pilut it all in I don't.

In the end 95% or more of the beer you drink will be from your brew not your starter. For most ales I'd say it would be pretty hard to spot that once its mixed in with your beer. I've done both and haven't noticed a difference in taste but find the starters pitched in full at high krausen take off MUCH quicker than those that have been decanted.
