Can I throw a new batch of Apfelwein on top of an old (3/5/2010) yeast cake? Why not, right?
 
Assuming sanitized environments, yea why not?
I choose to just get a new packet of Montrachet yeast because it's only $0.60 at my LHBS. Not worth risking my apple swill :cross:
 
d a search a very large thread can be found on this subject but i agree with brewdogskip, why risk the twenty dollars in apple juice?
