can i use silicone on my mash tun?

or somthing like that? problem is that my cooler is curved and my washer is not. i didnt know if there was something i could use to just caulk up the crack that was safe to be around my wort?
 
For what it's worth...I used a small amount of aquarium safe silicone underneath my rubber washer.
 
hasn't killed you so far? how long have you been using it? lol. i might do that. its a really small leak. i just dont want it to leak at all.

I've only used it for three brews so far...number four is tomorrow.
 
ok cool. i just wasn't sure if i could use the regular stuff because of the temperature and would it leech into the water or not. thanks a lot guys!
