A friend says that his beer tastes good, but leaves an dry, dusty-like aftertaste; like an old soda. He has already put all the bottles in the refrigerator. Will they continue to condition there? Will the off-flavors balance out? Will it hurt if he pulls them out back to room temp for a while?

Thanks.

you will get some effects of cold conditioning/lagering in the fridge. have they already had the requisite 3+ weeks at room temp to carb/condition? i normally leave bottles in my basement in a cool/dry area and then put them in the fridge as needed, but i don't think there's any harm in storing them in the fridge. they will last longer at cold temps. if he wants to condition them at room temp for a while longer, it shouldn't hurt to pull them out of the fridge, but just don't keep moving them.
