So I cut down my hops and they were starting to yellow/brown. I cut them to the crown about 2-4 in high. This isn't to short is it? Did I do this right or wrong and also should I add potassium fertilizer now?

I leave enough of the bine stalks to find the crown next Spring under the deep leaf mulch I apply after the bine chopping. Just a few inches is plenty.

I've never fertilized my hops after the cones form in early Summer.
Their next feeding will be in the Spring...

Cheers!

Probably should have left 2-4 feet. The crown stores carbs from the bines for winter. Then a couple months after harvest is a good time to cut the bines to 2 inches. I'd guess they will be fine and yes add some potash.

I plan on putting some compost on them next weekend, and cutting the bines down as they go brown. Two are yellow already, the other two are looking healthy despite the frost last night.
