So I am turning a 3.5gal batch of Sweet Potato Ale into a 1bbl batch and I need to do some scaling on the spices. Is there a rule of thumb on scaling spices?? Right now I have them almost doubled, minus a bit. :drunk:

1bbl is roughly 9X your original batch size.

I think you will need a lot more spice than "double minus a bit".

Scaling spices is tricky and don't necessarily scale at a 1:1 ratio. 9x is a good place to start but you really won't know for sure until after you are done and try it.

That's what I was afraid of!
